This section of my website is devoted to copyright-free images. The copyright-free galleries have images that came from copyright-free books and magazines, mostly from books so old that their copyrights have expired.

The Illustration above was taken from a magazine called 'Soviet Export' magazine. It was published in the Soviet Union, and they said that all the articles and illustrations in the magazine can be freely reproduced, without any concern for copyrights. The Soviet Communists were obviously not worried about any issues related to 'intellectual property'.

Another way of getting copyright-free images is by using old books, these are books so old that their copyrights have expired. The picture above shows the title page of a book titled 'American Machinist's Handbook' by Colvin and Stanley. It was published in the year 1914.
